Why We Number Every Piece
A number is a promise. It says this piece is finite, located, and accounted for.
A number is the smallest possible archive. It says this exists, and only this many exist.
Every YARNAE™ piece carries its edition number in monospace, formatted as a position within the whole. Seventeen of fifty. The format is deliberate. It places the piece inside a finite set and refuses to pretend the set can grow.
Numbering is also a discipline for us. Once an edition is assigned, it cannot be reissued, restocked, or quietly extended. The archive only grows by adding new collections, never by reopening old ones.
